In 2021 we took on the eighth IoD Leadership Conference – ‘Connect, Discover, Challenge’ featuring over 500 delegates and both domestic and international speakers.

This year the conference was hosted by New Zealand’s television and radio journalise and presenter – Rachel Smalley. The highly anticipated event consisted of a programme of expert speakers, including Dr Catherin Ball and Earl Eddings. The programme was designed for delegates to challenge their thinking, discover new perspectives and surround themselves with governance leaders.

The Cordis Hotel was the venue chosen for the event this year where we worked alongside Streamliner Productions and Cut the Mustard to transform the venue from a hi-tech plenary room, to a sophisticated gala dinner function, complete with custom graphics and theming to match the conference theme.

We brought back the unique exhibition area that consisted of customised lounge furniture to create more of a personal and interactive space between exhibitors and delegates. We utilised coffee carts for pre-conference engagement with delegates which was also a hit during the conference breaks.

The 2021 Leadership Conference was our first large event since the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. Delegates used this opportunity to network, engage and find out what issues should be top of mind for directors and business leaders in 2021 and beyond.

The conference sold out this year and have already launched for 2022! We look forward to working with the Institute of Directors team again to bring an even bigger and better conference to 2022.
