Event Dynamics has been working with The Careers and Transition Education Association (CATE) since 2010. The annual CATE conference focuses on educating youth in New Zealand about career and training opportunities to help ease their transition from school into employment or further education.

This years conference was much anticipated after a long 2 year hiatus due to Covid. Over 700 delegates from around New Zealand came to the stunning Te Pai Christchurch Convention Centre to be inspired by some fantastic speakers including Nathan Wallis and Nigel Latta. Mike McRoberts kept everything moving as our relatable and funny MC.

Our career advisors had 32 workshops to choose from as well as plenary sessions, a large exhibition space, and a Gala Dinner event. Event Dynamics coordinated all these aspects making sure that the intricate event ran smoothly from start to finish.

To top off an amazing conference we organised 6 excursions for delegates to make the most of their time in Christchurch. From a local brewery tour to waka on the Avon, there was something for everyone. CATE conference was the perfect mix of invaluable input and fun.

A conference of this size requires focused attention and Event Dynamics covered everything from liaising with sponsors, invoicing, coordinating caterers and other external contractors such as Displayways to create an exhibition build for over 40 sponsors. 

Modern technology has helped keep things running smoothly and this year was the first year we used manual registration kiosks that kept waiting time down to a minimum on the first day rush. We also created an app that had everything you needed to find your way around all aspects of the conference.

The CATE Conferences have all been huge successes and we are looking forward to working with CATE again soon.
